After several years of barely touching my bass guitar at all, this year I started playing again and somehow I magically had the ability to figure out and play along with songs. Now I practice a couple of times a week by putting on iTunes Party Shuffle and playing along with whatever comes up. If something is especially fun (like OSCA by Tokyo Jihen), I'll devote a few sessions to getting it right. In other cases, I'll just write down whatever I can make out and then move on. In case anyone is searching for bass tabs of songs by Judy and Mary, Harada Ikuko, clammbon, YUKI, Shiina Ringo, or other such unlikely acts, I've started posting my notes online.
Hi, I just wanted to complain that:
- There's a new clammbon tour documentary DVD coming out in a few days, and I'm not supposed to be spending money on frivolous things right now.
- Shiina Ringo has a new CD and a new DVD coming out, and and I'm not supposed to be spending money on frivolous things right now.
- The one frivolous purchase I was able to get away with last month, the Ar tonelico 2 Design Materials book, is still not in at Kinokuniya, four weeks and five days after I ordered it.
I couldn't find bass tabs for this song, so I tried to learn it by myself. For reasons I don't understand, I became able to kind of figure out songs by trial and error. It's probably pretty wrong, so if you know the right way to do any of these parts, please let me know.

I just read through a bunch of old e-mails to battle insomnia. I discovered:
- The very first communication I ever had with Tom Lipschultz, asking him to pick up the Xenosaga LE for me; we have been friends ever since (September 3 2002)
- My initial impressions of Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar
- The exact moment I first listened to Shiina Ringo and was so impressed I interrupted a sentence I was writing to Tom in order to comment on it (September 28 2002)
